Artist: Ollie Johns

Who are you?
My name is Ollie Johns, I’m an artist from South East London
What do you do?
I make quite detailed, mainly monochrome pieces, using fine liners and occasionally ink. Most pieces focus on the inevitable corruption of innocence and bad choices we make.
Why do you do it?
I do it because I enjoy it, but also it’s a way for me to get out things about myself that I would never tell other people.
Who are your influences?
My Influences are Zdzislaw Beksinski, Camille Rose Garcia, Michael Hussar and many others. I like a lot of Lowbrow work and also old etchings.
What inspires your work?
Life
What do you like?
90s Hip Hop, Asian horror movies, cooking, making music and videos of cats being stupid.
What don’t you like?
Lowbrow paintings of girls with big eyes, or Mexican death masks. There’s too many of them now. Conceptual art tends to make me angry. I don’t like to be judged either.
