Lindsey is a freelance illustrator based in London. She studied a BA Honours Illustration at Kingston University and graduated in June 2010.

Lindsey says: My work is a combination of observational drawings and elements from my imagination. I love attention to detail and fine lines. My medium of choice is my beloved mechanical pencil.

Lindsey has kindly answered some questions:

What do you do?
I am a freelance Illustrator based in London.

Why do you do it?
I love to draw. Drawing always keeps me entertained because there are always new ways to improve and get better.

Who are your influences?
I love the work of Jill Calder, Hennie Haworth, Heather Gatley, Olaf Hajek, the list is endless! I also adore Egon Schiele’s linework.

What inspires your work?
Everything around me. Characters who I meet or observe, places, history, objects, patterns…

What do you like?
I like mechanical pencils, soya beans with chilli rock salt, smiles, beards and childrens’ drawings.

What don’t you like?
I don’t like tears, marzipan and crumbs in the bed.

Lindsey’s work was selected for publication in Images 34 – The Best Of British Illustration. It was also selected for the annual Images exhibition in London. Her work was described in Images as “charismatic experimentation and design.”
