Artist: Teresa Fontes
Teresa Fontes (aka Teresa Types, aka Teresinha) is a Portuguese designer
currently living and working in the Netherlands. Her illustrations have a
vibrant palette, make extensive use of patterns, lines and dots, and often include
hand-drawn type. The artwork focus on (and regularly mix) people, animals
and flowers/plants/trees, revolving around themes like family, work and daily
things that make us rejoice or worry. All of these together results in Teresa’s
individual style, with a (more or less conscious) scent of Portuguese folk art.
Teresinha, 27 y/o.
An illustrator and a graphic designer.
Everytime. I think we are working all the time even when we think we aren´t. Every second is an opportunity.
I’m now living in Leiden, Netherlands.
Because it´s a part of me.
Well, I don´t have a specific way of working. In fact, I´m very chaotic and probably that’s the best way to describe my process, or lack of one. Normally the experience can be like an adventure: I don´t know the final result but I always feel happy for being a part of it. About mediums: normally drawing, painting and sometimes collage with pencil/pen/markers on paper.
