Who are you?
Farnell is the creative pseudonym for my illustration work. I have a background and career in graphic design, working in the commerical industry for over 10 years.
What do you do?
My illustrations are a mixture of mystical characters, creatures and patterns for apparel, wall graphics, surface patterns and art prints. Combining detailed hand drawn line work, textures and typography.
Why do you do it?
Because I love to bring my little ideas to life.
How do you create these images?
Everything starts off as a doodle or idea, then the best ones get worked up with a wacom and photoshop/illustrator
Who are your influences?
Anybody that creates interesting graphics, art, illustration, typography, photography, sculptures, patterns, prints, characters etc etc…
What inspires your work?
My inspirations come from everything from art deco to skateboard art with a decorative simplicity that consistently appears in most of my work.

Music, typography, children’s books, skateboard art, baroque patterns, screen prints, vintage posters
