This time, we asked Sretan Bor to be on the spotlight. He
willingly accepted the challenge. Sretan draws on paper, and paints, and draws
and paints on walls. The world he creates is inhabited by human-like creatures
or creature-like humans. Wizards and zombies. They strike me as a kind of gnomes or wild Oompa-Loompas. That also might be due to the eyes, plants, snakes and patterns that compose their surroundings. Oh, and please make this yours! Who?
I’m Sretan Bor, 28 years old.
What?
I paint murals and make some illustrations. Some of it is personal work and some is commissioned work.
When?
Usually I like to start in the morning, so that when I finish I can enjoy the rest of the day without thinking about the things I have to draw. And then, when the night comes, if I have some more energy I like to try new things and techniques.
Where?
Belgrade, Serbia. I work from home, together with my wife, on our balcony. Soon we will move to a bigger apartment with a bigger balcony.
Why?
It’s the one thing that I enjoy doing since I was little. Still didn’t regret it.
How?
I love to make hand drawn works so I use all kinds of pens, pencils, markers… For my paintings, most of the time I use acrylic and sometimes gouache or colour ink. For murals I use wall paint. I like to experiment with computer for some silkscreen stuff or when clients demand it.
