Think of shaman-like folks, covered in animals’ skin and fur, wearing horns and playing the flute out in the woods. Think of scattered branches, snowy settings and creatures that, similar to Puck, can be both friendly and menacing. Jes says she “can be found hunched over her desk (…) amidst a sea of sketchbooks”. With a background in graphic design, her illustrations mix free-hand drawing and computer art.

Who?
Jes Hunt, 31.

What?
Illustrator/procrastinator/tall-tale-teller/yarn spinner.

When?
All day/night in my head, thinking & scheming, but mainly after returning home from my day job.

Where?
I live in South Wales and I work from home.

Why?
Because it’s who I am and what I do.

How?
I draw in pencil, fineliner and brush pen, then scan into the computer and colour. I like to keep a note of ideas, good name for characters etc. I also paint wooden figurines called Hinterfolk, which I sell.
