Akoko nan is a symbol from Adinkra, a traditional visual symbol created by Akan people who domicile in west africa. The shape of this Symbol was inspired from the leg of a hen. the full word of Akoko Nan “Akoko nan tia ne ba na enkum ba.” which can be translate as “If a hen treads on her young ones, it does not mean to kill them”.

Akoko Nan became a symbol of affection, discipline, tenderness. This symbol depicted the nature of parenthood. There are various way and method that every parents do in the state of nurturing. some of it may seen as a force or restriction by their kids. despite all that, what they did is merely to ensure that their children will grew up with a decent personality and attitude.
