I was commissioned to paint a Mandrill by Sydney based band Audient for their debut EP.
An Ode to Maurice the Mandrill
There was this big ole mandrill and they called him Maurice
He was one of them dudes always disturbing the peace
At parties he would always be roughhousing with his mates
And things would get broken like bones, cups and plates
One day someone said “Hey Maurice you gotta change your ways”
“All them other chimps are growing tired of your games”
He thought long and hard and had a little sit down
And pondered the thought of forever being the clown
He met with some people and gathered some advice
And one of them suggested some chill tunes might be nice
A band called Audient he discovered with grooves so mellow
And their sounds chilled out his vibe while he ate some yellow
